Fancy Country Basket

The special touches of dyed round and flat reed make this a beautiful basket, but it may also be woven with fewer extras for a simpler basket. Please register early and give your color preference. Materials fee of $18 is payable to the instructor at class.

Cornucopia

Weave an old fashioned cornucopia to use in your fall decorating. This basket measures 13” long and holds a bountiful display of fruits and vegetables. Materials fee of $10 is payable to the instructor at class.

Large Tote

This big, strong tote makes a perfect basket to carry with you, and the leather handles make it comfortable to hold. This basket may also be woven in a simple version. Materials fee of $22 is payable to the instructor at class.

Drawing for Beginners
Jane Garnsey
Loosely based on the book “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain,” this class is for beginners to intermediates. If you think you can’t draw -you’re just wrong! We’ll explore the right brain/left brain connection, move onto contour drawing, use of negative shapes, perspective and shading. Recommended materials for the course include: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, a #2 pencil and eraser, a soft charcoal pencil and a kneaded eraser, an 11 x 14 sketch pad, and a drawing board. Release the artist within you in this fun, informative class.

Painting Workshop

We’ll spend the first weeks covering basic color theory. Students will use acrylic paint to do two-color mixing exercises. (Please bring to first class - 1 small brush, paper towels, acrylic paints: cadmium yellow light, cobalt blue and napthal crimsom.) After the color theory exercises, students will decide which painting medium they would like to explore. For any technique, students will learn mixing application techniques and composition. Students may choose from watercolors, oils, pastels or acrylics.

Iris Paper Folding

The spiraling layers of paper in Iris folding creates an intricate design that looks complicated but is surprisingly simple. This is not like origami, but more like making a quilt with paper & tape instead of fabric & thread. There are many different templates and papers to choose from in creating your design but feel free to bring your own special papers if you have something particular you want to work with. Using a different technique, you can achieve a similar result working with 5 copies of your own photograph. Materials fee of $7 payable to the instructor includes all materials to create at least two projects of your choice.

Mosaic Design Workshop

Design your own awesome mosaic frame or framed mirror from almost anything, but we’ll get started with tumbled stained glass pieces. If you feel more creative, the instructor will have a variety of old jewelry, buttons, beads, shells and other treasures from the beach. Feel free to bring your own odds and ends. Materials fee payable to the instructor of $12 covers all materials to complete a project of your choice.

Here Comes the Bride!

Knit & Crochet for Anyone!

Create your own unique knit and/or crocheted wearable works of art! Learn the basic stitches, stitch variations, gauge, how to work from simple patterns, and finishing. For our first project we’ll craft a beautiful, warm scarf. After that, let your imagination take you on to your next creation! Please bring to the first class: 12 ounces of knitting worsted four-ply yarn and one pair of #10 (6.5 mm) knitting needles and/or one size F (4 mm) crochet hook. No class 11/11 & 11/25.

Holiday Ornaments

Get a jump on holiday decorating and gift giving with this three-hour session in which you will craft several unique and special ornaments. Included will be etched glass ornaments, glass mosaic ornaments and wired charms. A materials fee of $15 is included in your course fee.

Pottery: Beginners & Beyond

It’s time to give pottery a try or brush up on those skills you learned back in school! The class content will be catered to each student’s interests and skill level. Both hand building and wheel throwing methods will be covered. The possibilities are endless. Plus, it’s the perfect time for making your own holiday gifts!! Course fee includes clay, glazes and firing of finished products!

Beading Basics

Learn about beading supplies, tools, wires, thread, clasps, etc. and make your own piece of jewelry. Design and create a unique necklace or bracelet. Students will also learn to make a “pendant” focal point for the necklace as well as how to bend wire to make earrings. All materials will be provided by the instructor for $15 (payable at class). Bring your own tools if you have them.

Two-Strand Entwined Necklace

Lariat & Tassel Necklace
