Ron Sauve You can’t do much about the cost of gas for your car, but there are many things you can do to lower energy costs in your home. Learn how to treat your home as a system and ways you can make it work more efficiently to save money. Ron has many years of experience in building and remodeling with particular emphasis on energy conservation and green building design. Everyday Math...a Survival Course for Parents! Eleanor Merrick Do you wonder what “that lattice thing” is? Are you confused as to the spiral nature of Everyday Math? Looking for information on how to help your children in math? Then come to this workshop! We’ll take you through the vocabulary, the spiral curriculum and help you understand the algorithms used in the Everyday Math Program. In addition learn games you can play with kids to help them improve their math success. Workshop will be scheduled once the school year starts. Novel Writing Cynthia Simon Have you ever dreamed of writing a novel? Maybe you have loads of ideas roaming around in your mind or a bunch of messy scraps of notes? Come to this class and learn how to put it all together into a book. Each week work on various aspects that go into creating a novel, for example character development, dialogue, and organization to name just a few! Dr. Dad Brian Clark, STRONG Fathers Network Are you an expectant or new father? Have you figured out how to fix the baby gear, but still worry about fixing your baby when he gets cuts, scrapes or a cold? This interactive workshop demonstrates hands-on activities like using a thermometer, dosing medicine and using a bulb syringe. We’ll also discuss infant nutrition; immunizations; dealing with fevers, common colds and dehydration; safety in the car or kitchen; parental anger; injuries such as burns, scrapes or choking and more!
